About 16 years ago, as I was working at a camp, I was introduced to a kayak. That summer I found myself spending more and more time on the pond (and less time in the office). After that, I was a camp director and did canoeing on Cranberry Lake and the Susquehanna River. I had renewed my love of water and nature. Then five years ago I found Water & Wilderness and the Ahwaga Canoe Club. I took lessons, tried many boats and got some of my friends interested (Becky and Jane). Since then I have been on many club trips and have met some wonderful people who have taught me even more. I enjoy flat water, but also like the challenge of Class I and II rapids. There is nothing better than a day on the water - blue sky, eagles, deer, beaver - and whatever your soul may be searching for. The shuttles, the good conversation and a stop at the local ice cream parlor. Oh! What a day! Can you ask for anything more?
